Posting fom my phone so apologies for any spelling mistakes..
Fingers crossed we've been given the go ahead to complete today/tomorrow so hopefully we should own the house by the end of the week!!:j:j
The floor people are there today (after cancelling twice already) so all thats needed now is the kitchen to be finished and cleanin then we're in!!
Now, i'm not counting my chickens and all that because we know how much we've been promised before that hasn't materialised, but i'm hopeful that Friday's the proper big move day!!
So i will wish everyone a wonderful stress free xmas and New year as i won't be on here much for a short while (no broadband) xx

Thanks Newgirly, hope you had a wonderful xmas too!
Will try and catch up with everyone's diaries in a few days when we're plugged back into t'internet but i've only got me phone at the minute.
We managed to move in on Friday, still have a few things to iron out (the snag list is growing) but at least we're here now!:j:j:j
Had a letter off the mortgage company already explaining our pymts, first one £1107 and then £877 after that! Also still got to get in touch with the utilities people.. So this week will be mainly spent re doing my monthly outgoings spreadsheet and budgeting!
Anyway must shoot, hope everyone is well x have a great New year if i don't get on before it xxxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Thanks Peonie.. it was a bit manic but we managed to unpack most of the boxes within a day (bossy relatives, i had no choice)! I think there's just a few left in the garage.. but i like the adage "out of sight, out of mind" at the moment!! :rotfl:
Still have no internet so am havng to just try and catch a few minutes at work when i'm on lunch.. hope everyone had a lovely Xmas and New Year.
The mortgage for this house is over 25 years, first payment doesn't go out until 25th and that's £1,077, after that it's £877 a month so not horrendous compared to some, but still a lot of money! I've still to work out a proper budget though.. having the old house still means i'm trying to work out 2 lots of billshowever, i had a phone call this morning to say that the lady who's buying the house is signing all her paperwork today so fingers crossed for a swift completion :j and then i can sit and work out new budgets for one house to my hearts content!
My list of people to pay:
1. pay off 0% credit card - number to follow (approx £3k)
2. pay back sister - number to follow (approx £20K)
3. pay back dad - £7,000
4. keep a £10k savings pot
5. overpay mortgage :j
Hoping to achieve 1 & 4 for definite this year.. and make some inroads into 2!
Should be getting connected to the internet on Friday, i've told OH not to bother organising anything for the weekend - i'll be busy catching up with everyone :TMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Happy new year Shala and congratulations on the move! It's a pain juggling budgets for 2 houses isn't it? I only had to do it for 15 days and the old one was a rental and it still drove me nuts. Good luck with early completion and hope you're enjoying your new house.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)
