Admiral policy put on hold, now they trying to charge me

Agree with Quentin on this one, insurers won't give a refund until they know the date the policy is going to fully reinstated again, only then can they calculate the laid up/suspended period refund.
Also as per scheming gypsy, call during UK office hours and you'll get someone in Wales with a much better attitude and sens of humour than a foreign call centre.
Again, I'm impressed with Admiral for offering laid up cover - most insurers will not do this (and many more do not understand the concept) for more than a 6 month period, as it's too easy for someone to insure a vehicle that's not used just to bump up their NCB.
By cancelling the DDM, you have effectively cancelled the policy; granted you got the wrong end of the stick and it would be nice if Admiral could allow for this as you are a serving forces member - I'm sure they will listen and try to come to a happy outcome, just make sure you get someone at Admiral in Wales.0
