Would a qualified roofer be able to gain access to all of my roof without bothering next door?
Long story short:
- hairline crack appeared in the rear bedroom ceiling (this room adjoins next door)
- Crack is getting worse, now water is getting in.
- brother in law has been up in loft and apparently I have 2 leaks.
I need a roofer but I have a large conservatory at the rear of my house and next door does too. There is hardly any gap between them. Literally, you have no chance of getting ladders up between our houses. The conservatories are too close. (I blame the ex for that but that's a whole other thread ):)
My next door neighbour doesn't like me and is unlikely to let anybody access from his property.
It's a pretty nasty leak and it's getting worse. Would a roofer have suitable tools/skills, to access the property purely from my end?
I hope this makes sense.

Yes of course he would, as long as he can pitch a ladder to get on the roof somewhere, front, side etc he can get to all of it. It is exactly the same as if you had a detached property with a full width conservatory across the back of it.

and tell your neighbour to cheer up
As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.0 -
Thanks, I have been so worried. I hate conflict. I just want to get the problem sorted without getting my neighbour involved.
I've got a recommendation from my Brother in Law so I'll give him a call tomorrow.
For now, I've had to re-jig my daughters bedroom (again!) so she's not worrying that the ceiling will cave in whilst she's asleep. It does look bad to be honest so I don't blame her.0
