Hey, thanks for that. I called them last week to ask if I would be able to use the gift voucher on goods rather than my partner. When the transaction was done online, you include the recipient's name/email address etc, they get emailed the voucher to print off and use in store.

My partner is not able to locate this email with the voucher. I called the shop last week and explained the situation. They told me just to come in and they'd be able to locate the payment on the system and I'd be able to buy goods for that amount without having to produce a voucher.

Today, when I went into the shop they backtracked and told me that I must produce a voucher. So it doesn't matter that their system shows I've paid for it. If I don't have a physical copy of their crappy gift voucher then they won't let me use it. So now I'm £45 down as a result. HOpe that clarifies things.

if you ordered these online i assume you registered an account online with this company. all you need to do is go into your account and look under orders and the order will be their and their should be a link to the vouchers.

When you boil it down, the only person to blame is the boyfriend for losing the bloody voucher !!!!!!.

It is no body elses fault. end of.

And the OP is blaming every one but him.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Can't you ask them to resend the email, as you didn't receive it? ;)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Next time use a more traditional gift voucher.
Bank of England do them, they come in paper in denominations of £5, £10, £20 + £50
They are accepted at all UK shops unlike other gift vouchers and never expire.
They have the queens head on as well "!

Doesn't make for a very nice or (some what) thoughtful gift though;)

(although i'm pretty sure my relatives would prefer cash instead at Christmas)

If you ordered the goods online, cancel them under DSRs op.
I don't think even DSR stretches to cancelling an order 5 months after it was fulfilled!

Do you not think that the time to cancel them under DSR has ran out now. They were purchased in May.

Yes, misread the op, was thinking op purchased some goods online with the intention of going instore to redeem voucher and was referring to this transaction.

You can hardly go to the shop when it's 7 miles across town, and you're recovering from illness and unable to go out but feel like treating your partner as a spur of the moment gesture to thank them for nursing you through illness.

    Can you?

I find this story very confusing. You began by telling us you bought the voucher for your partner: "I purchased a gift voucher online for my partner back in May."

Now you appear to be suggesting your partner bought the voucher for you.

    Op was ill.
Partner helped her during hard times.
Op thanks him by buying him a gift voucher online as she was unable to get out of the home.

Thanks to those who offered proper advice rather than making cheap, sarcastic digs without any knowledge of my personal circumstances.

Won't be posting on this forum again.

    What a waste of time.

    Same as above.

You were the waste of time though. What did you want; someone to give you a mgaci wand solution?

You got the truth, it's not anyone's fault that you cannot handle it.
