As the other poster said - what are your needs.
    However.
Lots more people succeed at appeal if they turn up - so if the money would help you more than the process is going to stress you, then yes, turn up.

If you just have a wheelchair at work, and not at home, this may mean that you need to demonstrate more why your mobility needs qualify.
Getting medical evidence on your condition and mobility may be useful.
Similarly for care needs - diary may help.

He uses an electric wheelchair at work only and they have not claimed to have any care or mobility needs here yet so you can not decide in your own mind that they are entitled to DLA just because they have the same illness as the majority of other people with MS.

Progressive means just that, it gets worse over time (though its not progressive in the way many people would assume) so that not everyone is at the same stage of the illness.

I diddn't realise most workplaces handed out electric wheelchairs like smarties.
Clearly I'm not in touch with the world of work.
Thank goodness I have a 'Work Focussed Interview' on Friday.

I wonder what other disability aids for disabilities I don't have I can get at work.

Primary progressive means the patient has no periods of feeling 'well; unlike those with relapsing remitting MS (the most common kind) - I would assume that needing an electric wheelchair at work is due to mobility needs.

OP, I would appeal, but it may be worth seeking support, maybe from your MS nurse, to do so.
  • sunnyone nobody would use an electric wheelchair just for fun so they obviously do have mobility needs.
regardless of if its just for at work or not they obviously need it to have been given one.

    I'm a RRMS.

I would say yes appeal, Your not going to be cured in the next 6 months, my ATOS report said i would be fit for work in 6 months, and here i am struggling out of a relapse oh the joy. (although it was for esa)

OP what care and mobility needs do you have? If your claim was none just that you need your electric wheelchair at work then i can see how you failed.

we need a bit more info on whats going on

(yes i am on dla, high rate mobility and medium care)

The Op has supplied virtually no information at all apart from that they were turned down for DLA and uses an electric wheelchair at work only, many people use mobility aids in certain situations and that dosnt mean that they are entitled to DLA because to be awarded HRMC you must fulfil a full set of criteria and not just get tired if your on your feet for a while.

As I asked in the second post on this thread, Op what are your care and mobility needs.
