If I could be sure this was genuine I would definitely donate.0

Same here. I think it probably is. I've based this on the fact that she's a long term ebay user and hasn't just created a new username to do this with!0

What are cabochans? I looked at the things she has bought and there are 100's of cabochan flowers bought this year.
I have grown to think the worst of people as there are so many scammers around but hope it is genuine and she gets what she wants.
OP, just out of curiosity, how did you find the listing? I never come across these sorts of listingsIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I know the person, and sometimes have a peep what shes selling, didn't realise she was planning the event, guess thats why she never mentioned that shes trying to organise it.
Know she does crafts and makes cards guess thats one place she gets her supplies from.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

although shes a friend of a friend, but guessing as she has done it as ebay listing to raise money, her funds must be desperate, and she not said anything to any of us. I'm guessing she wouldn't have thought peeped at what she was listing.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Goodness me. I'd be interested to know how successful it is. Perhaps could make more money sat outside the train station with a guitar!0

Sorry if I'm sounding really cynical here but some of those costs seem rather excessive. I don't know how old the daughter is but there's ways to get a nice BM dress for less than £100 as many people on here have proved. And £2000 for the mum's outfit seems huge. She says made to measure, which is not quite the same as bespoke..well my wedding gown is bespoke (from Linda
) and is a full length silk gown and well under that price.
I appreciate she wants to make an effort to give them a lovely day but it could still be done for less without going into penny pinching measures. If the idea works great but rather than pin hopes on strangers donating to fund a massive pot maybe she could look to what brides on here have done to have stunning days with a more modest budget0 -

I ended up emailing friend to say seen her friends listing, she emailed back saying she didn't realise she had implied that it was 2k for her dress, shes aiming at raising 2k to pay for the whole event. The bridesmaid would be either 11 or 12, for the mum she would be in a skirt, jacket, type outfit the skirt would need to be made to measure, coz of health conditions. Which is why we can presume thats shes gone down the route they have.
The woman is trying any method possible to raise funds, as her parents are OAPS.
Noticed shes had her 1st contribution. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I understood it to mean she is aiming to raise a total of £2k, not just £2k for her Mum's outfit
