it mentions the 'suspension' of WMA and im sure ive read in the past that your WMA payments are suspended whilst you are living with a partner as if married to them.
if you actually get married i think WMA stops.

so you can either reappeal your circumstances re your lodger or just make a new claim.

WMA is payable for as long as you havent remarried AND are receiving child benefit.
you will receive CB til your child is 20 as long as they are in full time (12 hours pw) education on a non advanced course, e.g. A levels.

when your child reaches 20 your WMA will convert to a widows pension and payment will be dependent on your age at that time.

i was widowed a few yrs ago, can u tell?!

I may have missed it but where does the OP mention being in Northern Ireland?

In England, Widows Pension hasn't existed since 2001 when it was replaced by Bereavement Allowance.

Widows Pension DOES exist in England.

Widows Pension is paid when 'Widowed Parent's/Mother's Allowance' stops being paid. (when child benefit ends)

Bereavement Allowance is only paid for 52 weeks following the death.

Bereavement Payment is a one-off payment.

I'm afraid that you're wrong.

From the HMRC website,

"Widow's pension was replaced by bereavement allowance (see EIM76173) for new claimants on or after 9 April 2001, but widows in receipt of widow's pension before that date continue to receive widow's pension."

As above^^^.. Fortunately we no longer pay women money just because they've been married.
