Monitor problem

Recently when I switch my PC on the display flickers very quickly. This lasts for x seconds and then the display is ok. The problem is that the x seconds is increasing as time has gone by.

It's an LCD Samsung Synchmaster and I've had it it nearly 4 years now.

I've checked the drivers and it's up to date.

It feels like it's on it's way out. I haven't come across this before - anyone any ideas?

Ive actually been having this same problem of flickering with my SM2333 but it only seems to happen under Win7 64but and not XP 32 bit.

Would you happen to be using Windows 7 by any chance? Although it could just be more down to the monitor on its way out.

As they deteriorate it takes longer and longer to get them to hold enough charge, and eventually they simply can't...
