Possible Out of Date PPI Claim

I had a loan some years ago from Lloyds which included PPI. I claimed a refund of the PPI in December 2007 on the grounds that I was told I could not have the loan without the PPI (which was perfectly true) and was not given the opportunity to look for an alternative PPI provider. The claim was rejected by Lloyds in March 2008 and I took no further action. However, now that the Banks and the FSA are taking a more lenient approach I am wondering whether it is worth trying again, especially as I have realised that at the time the PPI was sold to me I was in employment with full sick pay provision so PPI was not needed. Although the loan is now outside the time limit would the fact that I made a reclaim as recently as 2008 not perhaps keep it current? Is it worth a try?

If they told you at the time that you had six months to go to the Financial Ombudsman Service they will almost certainly timebar your complaint now unless you can show there were exceptional circumstances why you did not (which normally means being too ill to do so for virtually the whole time).

definitely try, refer it to the fos with a copy of your final response and they will request a busines file. Its not unsual for the firm not to raise the objection
