Ok soooooooooo my WD HD TV appears to have suffered the deadly temperature issue and no longer wants (can) connect via LAN to my media server (NG Duo).
The only option is to replace it.
I could get another one but its unclear if WD have improved the internals so soldered joints are more robust.
Opinions please.... go for another WD TV Live or other media player recommendations. (Don't have an XBox so no XMBC).

I have this http://www.futeko.com/products/MP00027.php after someone recommended it at HUKD. Has the same chipset as far more expensive kit and does me fine.I'm not as good as useless0

Interesting, my WDTV has given up outputting via HDMI...
A mate has had a good experience with his AOpen version.0 -
Mine has been unable to resolve the DNS (or rather is displaying DNS error).Interesting, my WDTV has given up outputting via HDMI...

I've tried the 'putting it in the freezer', ensuring it is cool, doing a hard reset, downgrading to a previous firmware version etc, but no joy.
I could try plugging a USB HDD in to it but that sort of defeats the whole object of having a central server fro all my music, movies, home movies, photos, etc.
Whilst it was working it was great but I'm not sure I want to [STRIKE]waste[/STRIKE] spend more money on something with such a significant design floor, unless I can find confirmation that later models have been improved; hence my question.
And, thank you both for your comments.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
