This particular insurer requests two things:

    1) An address to send correspondence.

    2) An address where the car is kept.

The two can obviously be different, otherwise they wouldn't give you the choice!

I hear what you saying. Most insurers/provider allow the adding of a different correspondence address.

However, your gut feeling has to be that the difference in premium of that amount is because the "insured" address is being changed rather than the "correspondence" address

In this case it's a comparison site, rather than an insurer.

I would be checking directly with the insurer rather than taking the result of the comparison site at face value.

I agree. A difference of £600 is too large just because you are saying, "I don't live here but send my correspondance here."

Quentin is absolutely right but ...... Direct Line for example ask for your address and you click on the 'i' button it says this is where the car is garaged. I doubt many mass market motor insurers can cater for a correspondence address.

As I say, Quentin is correct but if I was claiming for a theft or total loss I would like the insurance policy address and the address on the V5 to match.
