Hi,

I just wondered if anybody can recommend some roofers or builders in the areas between swansea and bridgend?

I've contacted loads for quotes but for some reason never seem to come back to me?

Hello. I know several builders and roofers in the Swansea and Neath areas. Some of them specialise in small repairs e.g. missing roof tiles and others specialise in larger projects such as extensions or new lofts so it depends on what you need. I recommend getting a few quotes. For starters I can suggest Allied Roofing in Swansea and Hughes Property Services in Neath. If you need any more names just let me know. If its just a small job have you considered using a handyman service? By the way please watch out for uninsured 'hobblers' who will quote a very low price. You do get what you pay for! Hope this is a help.

What are you looking to get done - I work for a large supplier of building materals in South Wales so know almost all the respectable companies in the area.

Let me know and i'll give you a few numbers of the people I recommend to architects, main contractors and private jobs

I would not recommend Peter E Smith of Cardiff. You think he's done a good job, but then when something happens to change your mind, can you get hold of the man to do anything about it - no. Messages are ignored, telephone calls are unanswer - caught him out once by straight after a 'no-answer' tried a different mobile - answered straight away!!

Incase anyone else know of anymore, the work would be reinforcing loft joists and laying down floorboard for storage up there. also to change the entrance onto the landing. Another thing would be one partition wall in the loft between myself and neighbours.

If your roofers were like mine they spent most of their time on the mobile or @ the bookies. Could not recommend Paul Ellis (Swansea)- fined for illegal flytipping which unless he had other work on @ the time could have been my waste !!

I am about to collect quotes for a roofing job in Swansea and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either A.A. Abbey Roofing or Peter Nicholas & Sons. Flutter: do you mind if I ask who you got to do your work and how good/reasonable were they?

Just getting a few quotes now. One from 5 star roofing in Nantgarw, one from sunny days building services and one by Welsh Slate roofing.

Any comments on the above please?

itsgettingbetter - I have dealt with these a few times over they years and havent had any complaints. Both Peter Nicolas and Abbey Roofing have been around for many years so would have a lot of experience.

You may want to try Marriott Developments aswell, based in Carmarthen
