Belfast --> Delhi, then where?! On a budget.

:money:

I need to travel from Belfast --> Delhi on 12th July, remaining there till 26th August.

The best rtn I get can is 536.

The problem is that after this I had been intending to fly on to sydney and then back to belfast (14th Sept), this is costing me around 1300 in total, for the whole journey.

I'm not fussy where I go after Delhi, I haven't travelled much previously.

Checked out flying back to Belfast --> New York 484, or alternatively Belfast --> Toronto for 446. This seems quite random, considering how far east I'll be in Delhi anyway.

I tried a few travel agents, but they were quoting me crazy prices. My only fear with booking everything online is what happens if something is delayed / cancelled in terms of return flights.

If anyone can better the prices I have, or suggest somewhere to go after Delhi, it would be most appreciated.

My budget is to do it all as cheaply as possible!

    I suggest you choose one country, and go there. Sitting around at airports is far from relaxing.

    Anyway, do you really need to fly into Delhi? Lots of flights go to Mumbai, so you might find a bargain there. You can easily get an overnight sleeper train to Delhi, and there are many interesting places to visit: you could spend a lifetime exploring India without getting bored.
  • Try Travel Nation, I found the site last night after the BBC Holiday programme said they were using them for their presenters round the world trip. I may be using them to get to Japan and then on to the USA with a few stop-overs on route. The link is below;
