That was lovely of you cattie - it's a bit frightening when the weather is this bad.

Annie, I saw your thread about donuts yesterday, is that what you made your dessert out of? What did you make? (And are there any leftovers?) :D

Thanks. Well have hjust nipped on for another 5mins(LOL!!) The wind is still not too good BUT does seem to be getting milder(wishful thinking?????) Tres still up(just about!) DH not been sick for a bit, but very stressed. The donuts were very old and in "other times" would have gone in the bin What I did is put some fruit(rasins sultanas cherries and a few currants)in a small bowl and put some hot water on them(added a few drops of vanilla essence and a small dash of cherry barndy) left them to soak. Put 3 of the stale donuts in a pyrex dish, poured the liquid over them added the fruit mixture. Made up a sachet of instant custard, poured it over the mixture, grated some nutmeg over it and shoved it into the oven. Baked it and thats it. Dead simple and more to the point VERY CHEAP! Well they do say that necessity is the mother of invention don't they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
