We are going to Orlando soon and expect to take hundreds of photos. I have quite a bit of memory on 3 memory sticks but is there any way of saving them onto something else apart from a CD or by buying more memory? Sorry to be so stupid about this but I really don't know the answer. Somebody please help. Thanks.
If I had known then what I know now . . .

Have you got room on your hard drive to put your pictures?
However I would still back them up to CD in case of hard drive failure.
Modified to add:
You can get online storage with various ISPs, Photographic vendors suppliers etc.
Try MSN, Jessops etc. Works best with Broadband as pictures are usually big files.0 -
Probably didn't explain myself very well but I'll be looking at saving them when I'm out there. If I had known then what I know now . . .

Sorry I thought that you wanted to save pictures you currently have on your memory modules.
So what type of media do you save to?
How big are your memory modules?
what size files do you save your pictures as?
Can you change the size?0 -
It sounds like you are not taking a laptop with you ( ? ), so I would suggest you take your memory modules into a WalMart (there's a large on on the 182 that seems to have more British than American accents
) or any decent photo store, who will save the images to CD for you.
If not a PC or a CD, I'm not sure what else you were thinking of saving them on ? ???0 -
Hi - I am not long back from holiday in Oz & had the same problem - I thought I would buy extra memory sticks as I needed them but they are not cheap or available in the outback, BUT in one shop they had a new machine which accepts all sorts of memory sticks, cards, wires, plug ins, infra red links etc - machine copies photos to CD which you then scan and check all is well then go and delete memory sticks on camera for next days shoot. Orlando will have them I am sure, regards Hotscot0

how about an mp3 jukebox to put them on0

Another option is sign up to an online photo album type shop thing, find an internet cafe, and dump them all online.
However I would have to say the best thing is take the memory stick into a photo shop and dump the photos onto a CD, but in the long term (depending on how quickly you fill up your memory) that may work out fairly expensive."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
If you have an Ipod then there are two accessories that you could buy:
1. Belkin media reader - details here
2. Belkin digital camera link - details here0 -
The suggestion I would make is to, at the end of each days photo taking, sit in your hotel/villa room, and reveiw all your photos. If it is anything like me, there will be a load of rubbish ones, too dark, too light, subject moving, sun in lens, and weed them all out and delete them. You'd be suprised how much longer your chips will last. Alot cheaper too!! Oh the advantages of Digital!!
Happy hols.

There are a few 'in the field' storage devices - basically a combined card-reader and hard disk, but they are (a) expensive - £200+ and (b) more likely to fail than a memory card. Likely to be a lot cheaper buying a couple of extra sticks than an external storage device. How many shots can you get onto your current (3) cards.?
As LincsLad said, you shouldn't really have a problem finding a Wallmart (or a friendly computer dealer) who'd burn you a CD for not a lot.0
