Sold on Gumtree - Help Please

I sold a Jumperoo (Childrens toy) on Gumtree over a month ago. The lady collected from my parents house, and handed over the cash. No problem. This was end of August.
I have had a phone call this morning to say there is a bit missing and she wants it rectified.
It was a large toy in immaculate condition. I took it all apart and put it in my mums car and she put it from there into the collectors car so I know all the bits were taken.
I cant help think she is trying to take me for a ride. I will phone her later today and insist she has collected it all. Should I be refunding it?
I dont have the money now as it was spend on my childrens winter clothes, how could she only just notice now.

If you had sold the toy via ebay she could force you to refund on returning item in the 45 day timescale. However since you sold via Gumtree there is no obligation on your part to refund her. When buying through the free ads the emphasis is on the buyer to inspect the goods before purchase (caveat emptor/buyer beware). Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979, private sellers are not held to same standard as businesses. When selling you have to be the legal owner of goods and goods must correspond to description no more.
I would tell her will you not be refunding, transaction has been completed and suggest she contact fisher price customer service about sourcing replacement part.0 -
It was the buyers job to check that everything was there & working properly before handing over the cash.0

I would second that, but I would double check your car for the missing part and then explain all parts were present and they must have mislaid it. No refund, sold as seen and collected, end of story.0
