my ehic card ran out this october and i went on what i thought was the website for it, exactly the same as the real one. i clicked on auto renew your card and paid 14.95 via paypal. I have since learned these cards are free and no payment should have been made, I have sent the details to the ombudsman of the website i used, after reading the info on here, however how do i reclaim my money back do i
get in touch with paypal or the actual company and is there a letter template i could use off here. thanks in advance:o

You have no redress I'm afraid.
You asked and paid for a service which they provided.
You really should have researched this beforehand, you just have to suck it up.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
There are similar websites that will "apply" for a driving licence or driving test for you, and charge you extra on top of the dvla fee.
These companies pay google to put their links and adverts right at the top of the results and they can afford to. Google should stop it, if it was a responsible company, so clearly that's not going to happen.
Every time someone clicks the advert, the company has to pay google a few pence, so if you do a few searches every day and click on their link, then you will cost the company ££sWe need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Hi, I too have been caught out by one of these companies, I am so annoyed as I do usually research everything before I commit to any kind of payment.
The website I used was 'eu-healthcard.com' it came up near the top on a google search and looked genuine I had no idea that renewal of these cards was free, what a rip off. They claim because you have ticked the t&c's you have agreed to the payment (£14.99) this is for a 'checking ' service which is completely unnecessary. I tried to stop the payment going out as it hadn't shown up on the online statement but couldn't. Could this be an article for Watchdog! We need to get the message out there, maybe Martin can bring it up when he's next on TV as well.0 -
The E111 has been defunct for a few years. It was replaced with the EHIC card and there are also several unofficial sites with that in the title which also charge.0
