Council parking fine

hi
my daughter got a council parking fine yesterday but they put the wrong colour of car on the ticket.
My question is. Is this ticket legal as it describes a different colour car ? thanks folks

Vehicle colour is not a statutory requirement and on it's own is not sufficient grounds for appeal.

Are you 100% certain this is a council fine and not a private company .

However, given that a high proportion of all council ticket appeals are ultimately successful the general advice (provided that she has a Penalty Charge Notice - issued under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004 - as opposed to an Excess Charge Notice - issued under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984) then it is well worth appealing.

Before she does so it would be worthwhile getting her to scan both the front and back of the ticket before registering and posting the details on pepipoo.com where she can get detailed advice on the validity or otherwise of the ticket.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

No, its not a statutory requirement but it could be seen as a sign of something more wrong with the ticket.

I have had an Aberdeen ticket cancelled because they got the colour wrong - Seriously wrong, not an arguable because of bad light kind of ticket.

I simply wrote to them, pointed this out and asked if the patroller had actually got the right car!

So get yourself over to pepipoo forums, start a new thread there with a pic of the front and back of the PCN. They should find you other grounds of appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
