Hi, I had one Paul Frank bag listed along with a bunch of other stuff i've been clearing out.

I've sold a Paul Frank belt before, about 18 months ago. It was also 2nd hand, but no problems there.

It would have been your second 'offence', after the evisu VERO.

    Any other warnings, pulled listings?

If you only had 1 listing and you were selling it as used, and was pulled because of this VERO, then they may as well close ebay down. Wasnt the idea of ebay in the first place, a place where you sell your unwanted items.

Just imagine if major houseold names like, brother, panasonic, sony, epson dell, and all the hundreds of brands out there got invloved with this VERO, then there would virtually nothing on ebay other than the VERO members

    Just a thought.
But has anyone ever tried selling items that we know have VERO issues with a deliberate mispell (in title and description)?
The VERO rights holders may just have there searches set for correct spellings.
And as for sale price given the popularity of Goofbay, Fatfingers et al and the fact that mispelt items now often sell for more than correct spellings might be an avenue worth trying.

i recentely made a post questioning the legality of VERO it can be found by clicking my name and looking for recent posts. As it may be worth asking ebay about it based on what i've said to see what response you get.

I kept having an auction pulled they didnt even tell me why until i emailed and asked and it was because of VERO.

What annoyed me as i had tons of people bidding and loads of watchers .... it really annoyed me...as it made me look as if i was doing something wrong.

Its all about wording ,it was for a Bose system and i couldnt mention anything about the system in my description at all or it would get pulled...i just put some simple words and it was finally ok and it finished and sold.

I'd write to ebay and ask them to tell you in detail why you have been suspended. I've had a couple of listings removed because of VERO and I've fought each one as the items have been genuine. Ebay told me I needed to prove without any doubt that an item was genuine (i.e receipts, serial numbers etc) It always makes me laugh cos there are hundreds of people selling fake Gucci/Prada/Louis Vuitton etc and us small sellers have things pulled.

Keep at them, I'm sure you will get your account back. I've had friends get their accounts back after they've been caught shill bidding.

Keep on at Paul Frank as well and see what their response is, I had to contact Mamas and Papas once and it took a week for their reply.

Hi, thanks for the responses. Been away for the weekend but have had a couple of e-mails from ebay.

They want to verify my identity and address, so copies of passport, utility bill etc. - no problem.

They also wanted receipts or copy of my supplier agreement for every item I had listed when they pulled the plug. I told them I couldn't do this due to the nature of the items (snes console, N64, couple of old pairs of jeans). They said fine, but want me to send a photo of me with every single item, bit of a pain in the @rse but ok.

Hopefully this will sort it out.

As for other warnings i've had, recently I got an alert because a fee payment didn't go through, but I paid straight away with paypal. I think I may have had another listing pulled by evisu for a T-shirt, but since then i've never bothered listing any evisu item as I reckon they have me marked.

As yet no response from Paul Frank.

    Cheers

  • it's daft really, they don't want their brand name cheapened, but if they can't be sold on they'll end up in charity shops.

At the end of the day, for some of these big companies, it is all about making money, they dont want you to take any sales away from them.

To be honest if a large company has to resort to using ebay to shift there products, then what does that say for them.
