Good Evening All!
Just a quickie, am due to be going away for a week tomorrow and I don't know if I should leave my heating on for an hour a day on low or just switch it off - have never gone away in October before! I live in a mid-terrace in North Scotland and, having looked at the 5-day forecast, it doesn't look like it'll be below 7c or so between now and next Wed (although that could change knowing the Met Office!)
Any advice or thoughts are a great help! Thanks, L

I'd leave it off for October.
It will need to get well below freezing outside for the pipes to start freezing inside. If you were going away in December or January then it would be a good idea to leave it on.0 -
Just turn the thermostat down to say 10 degrees or less.
I would set the heating to ON ALL THE TIME.
The boiler will only come on if it gets cold.
Somali pirates are everywhere now. What if you were kidnapped in a 5 star Egyptian resort (£500 a week, you must be rich
), and you don't get released until April 2012? If you switch it off, then the boiler will never come on.
Switch hot water off on the timer if using cylinder.0
