I moved into a house near my university and joined the local Fitness First.
They offer two memberships, 4 months or 12. I opted for the 4 month which he told he is £42 a month for students (if I took 12 months, he said £34 a month). Even though I knew it was expensive, I signed the forms etc. He asked me for the numbers of my housemates and he'd give me a free bottle etc which I did, however did not receive anything free.
A few days later, he phoned them asking if they wanted to join. They said no and he said he'd give them a deal for £20 a month if they took the 12 month contract.
Now it's all just dawned on me that this guy is more than likely giving memberships out at whatever price he feels he can get from people, and I feel a little angered with myself for not trying to haggle (I thought it's a gym so prices must be fixed).
This is one of my life lessons learnt I guess... even if it was an expensive one.
