    The STL is an idiot who has no financial sense whatsoever.

    I don't know about that I'm far better off than I have ever been. It has been so easy to make money in the last few years be it shares gold or silver anything but bricks and mortar.

    Yes but don't forget leverage.

    I've not yet seen a post from an STR whose anything other than "considerably better off due to his STR decision".

  • The sad thing is, the answer is all three. The first 2 options because they view housing as a money making investment.
    And the third option are usually spoilt brats who probably never have or never will need to do a hard days work in their lives.

    the fact is there are winners and losers, to hate the winners is just jealousy... there is no point to this!
    Plan
    1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)
    2) Make healthy savings, spend wisely (Doing)
    3) Ensure healthy pension fund - (Doing)
    4) Ensure house is nice, suitable, safe, and located - (Done)
    5) Keep everyone happy, healthy and entertained (Done, Doing, Going to do)
