BT to stop Hub Phones on Broadband

I had a call from BT today offering me Infinity BB. Presently I have BT Option 3 Broadband with a hub phone and a second BT number. It has been wonderful as I can ring my Mum in Spain for pence!!
During the Sales phone call they told me that I can have Infinity but the not the Home Hub Broadband phone as they are shortly going to stop the service!
I told them I was happy to stick with my 6MB Broad Band speed and Hub Phone until the service was stopped. I have one piece of advice for everyone - if you tell BT your going to move to another provider its amazing how they come up with a new price 'just for you'!!

It'd no secret the service has been a commercial disaster, and it has not been marketed in any meaningful way for the last year. That said, greater savind are available from VOIP providers (like Skype) who similarly offer EU calls for 'pence', even less with a bundle. BT have a long history of launching products that when they reach their sell-by date have the plugged pulled with as little as 30 days notice whether there is a loyal user base or not.
I'd keep looking at other options to prevent you being stranded down the line! And if you are using your 05 number of inbound calls, be prepared to lose this too.0
