X box help needed

I wonder if anyone could help or advise?
After 2 years of waiting my Husband managed to order Painkiller for his X box, through Amazon Market place, from a trader in Canada.
When it arrived and he tried to play it he got the message invalid game.
It is not a fake and came sealed but we now see it says for NTCS designation boxes only.
We thought the X box was international so what is this?
Is there anything we can do?
And if the worse comes to the worse will we be able to get a refund or just mark it down to experience?
Any advice gratefully received.

Did the Amazon market place person advertise it as NTSC?
You could put a mod chip in, but I don't know if that is legal.0 -
How do you tell if you have a region coded xbox?Overdraft: PAID
OU Course Fees: PAID
:money:Now to save for mortgage... :money:0 -
I didn't realize there was any non region coded xbox's. I thought they were all region coded (perhaps except those from Japan).
You could put in a mod chip, or perform a softmod to bypass the region checks. Plenty of sites around showing exactly what to do.0 -
All xboxes are region coded, to remove the protection preventing games from other regions and games to be played from back up disks you need to modify the xbox with a modchip.0
