Eon Central Heating cover

Couldn't see a designated forum so posted here.

Had the cover for years, and previously with BG. I'm stuck with no central heating and no hot water until Tuesday afternoon, as that is the earliest appointment window.

3 kids will be having cold showers, not good enough.

Why did you leave BG, did you find them ok??

Having to wait 4 days and not even in winter is quite shambolic.
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?
  • Phone BG before 1pm and as long as it's not -10c outside they should be with you the same day

The price went up - about it really.

Finding this annoying to say the least. Got gas fires so no issue there, but cold upstairs. No idea how we're going to dry the kids school uniforms. Over the back of a chair in front on the fire I guess.

Will take the kids to my mums for a shower tomorrow, otherwise it's be heating water in pans / kettle and a sink wash. Not good for a 14, 11 & 9 yr old.

The best part of 5 days like this is not what I pay my monthly premium for.

we also moved to eon a couple of years ago, as bgas wouldn't negotiate over price hike.

we were without heating for a few weeks whilst they waited for a part, with a gas fire in the lounge only.

you could move back after this, you may get a better price/discount as a new customer and may get quidco etc cashback?

A local independent GSR that you use for annual servicing would probably be available next working day.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Theres only so low you can go...
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Well i'll certainly be looking for an alternate supplier after this.

BG made the mistake of offering me a poor renewal quote. They said I should've called and haggled. Maybe i'm naive but I expect a loyalty discount.

Anyhow a heads up to any potential Eon Central Heating cover customers. Can you and your family do without heating and hot water for 5 days? That assumes that they can fix when they come round on Tuesday.

Surely you have some alternative for space heating-a fan heater, electric radiant fire, etc? If not can you not borrow one? Heating has only just gone on here in the South East in the last few days.
Hot water-do you have a back up immersion heater maybe?

    I didn't ask a question....

My post was observational. The purpose was to share my experience so other posters could use that if they are thinking of buying a similar sevice.

Any problem with that, or are you just trying to act the big man sat behind your keyboard???? :p
