    Hiya and welcome

If mis sold then yet you can. If you've only just became aware of the ppi mis selling, then let them know that as well.

Complete reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below, send to their complaints or head office, and keep copies for yourself as well, good luck.

  • Hi di3004
thanks for your reply, i'm not really sure if i was mis sold or not. All i can remember is that my credit rating was'nt very good at the time and they got in touch with me and said i could qualify for a credit card, at no time did i ask them for a card. I of course accepted and i think i never question the ppi because of my poor credit rating. Over the years i repaired my credit rating and just kept paying the credit card with out question.

    thanks chelsea22958

there isnt much info about the sale here. Can you remember how they sold it to you? capital one are notorious for providing shoddy call scripts and virgorously defending complaints. did you have a pre existing medical condition or were you self employed? what sort of sick pay did yo get from work
  • Hiya,

I have a question about Capital One if anyone can help?

I sent the first letter to request my documents and they have sent me a letter to say that due to the fact that i paid a partial settlement on the debt when I cleared it, they are not obliged to send me my documents, is this right?

    hi all,

don't mean to hijack the thread but i have a question regarding Capital one,

This is what i sent to Capital one some time ago:
I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the insurance charges added to my account with Capital one If you are unable to provide this data, I will accept copies of my statements. I understand that statements on their own are not covered by the Data Protection Act, yet I’m not requesting the statements per se, but the charges, which I’m entitled to.

I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.

however they sent a letter back stating that i had forgot to sign my letter :( so they informed me that
under the data protection act 1988, we are also allowed to charge £10.00 for a customer subject access request. If you would like to request only a copy of your clients statements, we are allowed to charge £5.00 for this.

so I'm slightly confused do i send £10.00 or £5.00 and after this what do i do next? I should also point out that i have just realised i am still paying PPI on my Capital one CC, do i call up and request this be cancelled?

    thanks in advance
  • bump, can anyone help with the above?

Hi there,if you only want the statements, they will charge you £5,you need to find out if this is per statement!!!.
You would be better with the SAR at £10,they should provide the statements within this but ask for these to be included.

And you should cancel your ppi as you are paying for something you have no use for.

    Hope this helps.

Hi there, they are correct, what year did you settle this?,you will need to do a SAR,this will cost you £10 but will give all info they hold on you, just write a letter and ask for everything they have on you.
