Just had exactly same problem as this question on that webpage !- no sound when on mains, fine on battery. The radio is approx 2 years old.

I cut opened the mains adaptor along the centre line and revealed the 2200uF capacitor. This was the cause of the problem. I replaced the capacitor and resealed the unit with a glue gun. Do take care.

Is this easy to do ?
Where can I buy a 2200uF capacitor ?
Do you think I should contact Roberts as it seems it in an inherent fault?

Are there any other solutions which don't include buying another Digital Radio

TIA

Is this an external power supply you are looking to repair, then i would say DON'T DO IT unless you are experienced with electrical repairs, not worth the risk. As for getting a 2200uf cap, Maplin's, ebay, RS, loads of other online suppliers.

Had a look at site, then a new 6V 400ma Centre pos PSU is your best bet. So either a fixed voltage with the specs i just gave or a Multi voltage PSU, as long as it has a 6V setting and supplies 400ma.
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j
