FTB - Mortgage protection??

Hi, Survey is underway and instructed solicitors to carry out local searches yesterday!

What is your view on mortgage protection?

We rejected the advisors protection and life cover to find a better deal.

How many of you out there have taken out Mortgage protection? I dont think the Death one is worth it (pays off remaining mortgage, later it gets the smaller the payout and doesnt consider bills ..etc.) and am currently looking just to get life insurance for myself and partner for around 200k each. Unemployment isnt really a concern either, but am a bit confused and torn with illness/sickness cover - is it worth it or a con like all the protection you can get with credit cards, loads ..etc.

I know it varies from situation to situation, but just wondered what you think and what I should look out for!

Still a bit of a young beaver when it comes to mortgages!

Thanks

Personally we have taken, life cover and critical illness it all forms part of our total mortgage protection plan. We wanted to be covered for anything "just in case"

We did this with our mortgage provider and Hubby works for them so gets a slight discount.
House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.

Hang in there everyone it is worth it

Protection of any type is quite often considered a waste of money. That is until you need to claim on it.

The only thing I'm really questioning is illness. Terminal Illness and Death is covered by life insurance.

Whats companies do you recommend for life insurance and buliding.contents (not afiliate programs/commission please!).

Currently got car insurance with Direct Line, so may be looking at Builind/Contents (25% dicscount)with them and looking at maybe Legal and General for Life insurance (flat).
