rules about conservatories and adjoining room

I just wondered if anyone has any advice about the rules on conservatories and adjoining rooms. I've heard that you can't have the conservatory open to the room, that is to say its not allowed to remove the patio door. Would this cause problems when you wanted to sell the property?

    I thought it was that you don't need planning permission or approval of any kind if you leave the door on. Could just be a rumour/urban myth.

    Certainly that's how my father in law has done it - built it leave existing back door, not telling anyone (except neighbours)

    if you remove the patio door and/or extend central heating to the conseervatory then i believe it would be classed as an extension rather than a conservatory and be subject to building regs....

    google permitted development rights +conservatories and you should find some useful info
