hi not sure if ive posted this in the right place
.
we are both 20 and currently 36 weeks pregnant, me and my partner are currently living with my parents as we are saving to get our own place.
we both work (well i did im on maternity leave now), i worked 20 hours and he works 40 hours as a builder.
i was signed off from work since 16 weeks as my manager bullied me constantly everyday from the day i told them i was pregnant, causing me to have depression and a breakdown.
i really dont want to go back to work there after what happened
, but i also dont want to quit my job and not have another one to full back on, ive never not worked and think i would go insane being at home all day, being off since 16 weeks has driven me insane!!....
i am allowed to start looking for another job whilst on maternity leave getting maternity allowance?
i dont wanna leave it to late, it would be a part time job as my mum is having her for me whilst i work
any advice would be great
xxx

There is no need to be rude about it.
I think you can look for another job OP but from what someone told me (don't take this on board without checking, because I don't know how true it is) If you don't return to the job you took maternity from, they can make you pay all the maternity money back0 -

the OP asked if it was ok to look for another job WHILST on maternity leave
there is no need to be rude, the best policy if you cant help is to keep your opinions to yourself
Aggreed. Was I correct on my advice or not woodbine? can the company make you pay back all the maternity allowance you received if you get another job whilst on maternity leave?0 -
Are you getting discretionary maternity pay from your employers, basic statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance (which you will have had to claim as a benefit if you've not worked for the same employer for long?
Basic SMP or maternity allowance - no they can't ask you to pay that back. Employers' maternity pay over and above SMP, yes they can ask you to pay it back if that is written into your contract.0 -
