Get a smart phone and your'll never go back.

That's right, you'll never look back, you'll be constantly looking at the fukin' screen on 'em, like me now typing this... Using 3G, as still after 3 years my IP is banned for laughing at a picture of Mr B's penis lol :D
Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.

I think he was around for a while in different guises, but probably got bored, it was fun back then, most have now left or banned like mewbie etc... but as with everything in life, changes aren't permanent but change is :)

It still gets my goat that I lost 11500 'thanks', my ratio of 'posts to thanks' was almost as good as Cleaver's lol :D

Yeah they were the days - plus you had house prices crashing monthly which made it so much more enteratining then a .1 up and down like nowdays. :D

It is boring now, I sort of go through phases every few months.

Im glad your doing okay though and enjoying life - my life has changed quite a bit over the last 12 months and am now in private rent in a new town - thinking about buying again but not just yet :)

Can someone dredge up the link to the superb End Of The World thread, the one with the advice about obtaining water from licking condensation off car windows? One of the funniest things I've ever read.

Ah, OVJ, you know this is my favourite thread ever and that I'll link to it at the drop of a hat:D:

It starts off sort of sensible, but by page three people are collecting water and eating dogs. I think the condensation is about page 4. Enjoy!
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
  • Nice post Reactor. Hope you are as aqcuiescing when the death squads take your children screaming into the cattle wagons to be terminated on cost grounds...........

    In answer to the OP......

The painful truth is capitalism does not work and cannot provide the basics of life to billions of people on this planet despite the natural resources being there. It's sole purpose is to delivery profits into the hands of the few and that is exactly what it has done, very efficiently hence the current 'crisis'. Now the wealth is concentrated and won't be re-distrubuted throughout the economy becuase the capaitalists cannot at present make a profit. QE. tinkering and government dabbling cannot alter the fundamentals of the system - the money will flow back to the source.

Doom and gloom is probably an accurate forecast as only painful remedies will work if you consider perpetuating such a stupid system as a solution.

There is an alternative though: genuine democratic socialism. And before the usual arguments rise up.....

No, socialism has NEVER been tried. The USSR was not socialism, neither is Obama a socialist nor Korea or anywhere esle. My vision of socialism is based on a money-less, class-less society whereby all the people of the world own the means of production and all human effort is made to provide what we need as a whole. No countries, no wars, no pointless jobs, no finances.

You may laugh, you may dismiss, but all the world is waking up to the fact that capitalism is NOT working for the majority, and from the posts on this forum, its not working for you either to the point it is being questioned wholesale.

See here for a better explanation of the alternative BEFORE slagging me off (its inevitable!)....

I missed being on that one. :( It was around the time when we flogged the house in the city. Ironic, as I had a stash and a desire to head for the hills, become semi-self-sufficientish and.....well, the rest is history. :D

Thanks for permission, but I was going to anyway. :rotfl:

Oh gawd, it's the reincarnation of Che.

What you're suggesting might work in your average hippy commune but it completely ignores the human factor (Lord of the Flies).

    I love this place.

I do too! Well done, first prize for NOT reading the stuff before......:T
