Renting/credit

in House buying, renting & selling
I'm sure I heard martin saying/ or i read something he had said! that you should ask for your credit rating to be kept seperate from those you are renting with. The person I am currently living with is in quite a bit of uni debt and i don't want it to affect my credit rating. I have done a seach but can't find any mention of it on the site, could anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction please?!

    Your credit file will not be in anyway connected to anyone else you are renting with unless you have any joint accounts.

    sorry for the late reply, thanks for the info...his debt has been worrying me, but we don't have joint accounts :)
