Can I claim PPI from Alliance & Leicester (now MBNA) and other queries?

Hi

I had a call from the Claim Guys and received forms in the post but think I will try and do this myself and save their 30% winning fee.

However, can I claim from Alliance & Leicester (now MBNA) I've looked at old A&L credit card statements which go back to 2003 and saw Payment Protection Cover on them - is this what I can claim back?

Also, is this easy to do? :)

Lesley

  • Great thanks so much - I've just done this through the phone so it was very handy :) put claim in with Santander and was told to ring MBNA as well so both done - will wait patiently now and hopefully a nice little cheque for Xmas :)

    Hi Lesley2011

Can I please ask how this went? I'm in the same position. Had a credit card from A&L which was then taken over by MBNA. Who do I need to contact to put the claim in for PPI? Thanks in advance for your help

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I have just submitted a claim for alliance and leicester credit card 1999, and a national and provincial card ffom the 90s, started of by talking to Santander on phone then copied statements and took them to branch, we will see what happens...
  • So if I had a credit card originally from Alliance & Leicester with PPI should I complain to Santander or MBNA? Or even both? Very interested to hear any others experiences please? Thanks.

I have a similar claim with mbna, which was originally an alliance and leicester card, then Santander took it over. Mbna took over in either March 2003 or August 2003. Im on day 34 of my claim so decision should be made in less than 22 days. Santander upheld my complaint before Mbna took over it.
