My Damp Specialist Co out of Business, is my Guarantee Valid?

I had some damp proofing done on my flat a year ago, I have put it on the market and the home report has come back with high damp levels. I contacted the specialist who carried out the work last year and he has retired and his company has not been passed on to anyone and is therefore out of business.

I have a 30 year guarantee on the work, which is pretty standard, and I am thinking that this sort of thing must happen all the time as a lot can happen in 30 years (a lot can happen in 1!!!)

Does anyone know where I stand with regards to getting any work covered as I can't afford to pay out for more work to be done!

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
