Hi AD how you doing.
I like the smiley at the end, it made me giggle.
But to be honest, I am better off than pre 2007, will it maintain? who knows.

Times are tough, times will get tougher.
30 Years from now a loaf of bread will be around a tenner, a pint of beer will cost a score, and house prices will have quadrupled

For the vast majority of the (western) world population the "good times" are never coming back.
We have had the best years and are now on the cusp of major changes to our way of life on a par with the industrial revolution.
The good news is that a falling standard of living does not have to mean a lower quality of life.
as long as the benefit brigade are ok, that is all that matters.
oh, and that the 5-a-day co-ordinators are all safe and secure in their (non) jobs.0 -

I'm good Dan thanks, hope you're well mate. As far as the poster's quote above goes, I actually have a smile on my face most of the time, due mainly to the last line in my first post.... however
I have a firm grip on the reality that we are facing over the coming years given the vast amount of evidence supporting my view... I see 'nearlynew' also reads past the vacuous crap that is pervaded as news these days... good on you mate.
Burying your head in the sand doesn't make the problems we face go away.Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.0 -

Perhaps not, but what influence do you or I actually have.
What would educating our beer swilling 'X Factorites' to the horrors of the impending visit by the four horsemen (100% guaranteed) achieve? Their last day approaching a tad faster due to stress I would hazard.0 -
When GDP/head falls by 30% we will be as poor as we were in the 90s - I remember it well, the dust bowls, soup kitchens etc etcI think....0

I'm good mate thanks, and I see things are well for you too
. On a personal level I agree with you, I'm much better off than 2007... detached house, no mortgage, no debt, two jobs, company car, Kawasaki zx12 (lol).... I'm probably a lot richer now due to not havin a wife now either lol.... But
As a whole the country is on a slippery slope, as is the rest of the world's economies... and in my humble opinion, given the evidence it's going to get a lot worse, 2007 was a watershed, which, coincidentally tied in with peak oil. This, again on my opinion is why this downturn isn't like any other... and so it's proving to be.Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.0 -
ZX12, nice! I had a ZX9R and loved it. Watch yourself on that lovely bike AD, motorbikes are dangerous beasts (well everyone else on the road is a danger to a biker anyway).
You wouldn't want to end up under a lorry and miss armageddon.
