Am I being unreasonable being disappointed?

Hi,
On 22nd June, I was emailed by What's On TV to tell me that I had won two Premium Merlin Passes, I was absolutely thrilled.
At the time, I made the HUGE mistake of telling my daughter. Because my Mum was dying, I thought it would help cheer my daughter up (they were very close) if she had something nice to look forward to - sure enough I heard nothing more. After a month went by with nothing, I chased them and was told that they had had some problems. Two months, and then three months went passed. I emailed them in September and said I was disappointed that they hadn't arrived in time for the summer, but was still in hope they might arrive in time for my daughter's birthday on 1st Oct. I received more apologetic emails blaming Thorpe Park for not sending them, and promising they would get them to me for the 1st Oct. The day before I received an envelope with a gift voucher for just one standard pass.
Am I being unreasonable to be disappointed by this? I haven't paid for anything, but I can't really use one pass - my daughter's too young to go on her own, and I can't afford to fork out for trips out to Alton Towers etc to take her.
I emailed them to let them know that this was all I received, but I haven't had any response at all from either What's On Tv or their PR company.
I don't know whether I should just let this drop now, and just accept that it wasn't meant to be. Has anyone got any advice?

NOPE YOUR NOT BEING UNGRATEFUL AS THEY TOLD YOU YOU WERE RECIEVING SOMETHIG WORTH A LOT MORE THAN YOU ACTUALLY GOT , THERE IS AN OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS OMBUDSMAN THING THAT ARE really good IM SURE SOMEONE WILL HAVE MORE DETAILS , PLEASE DONT LET THIS DROP , FOLLOW IT THROUGH AS ITS NOT ON , IVE HAD SUCCESS WITH A COUPLE OF THINGS WHICH WERENT AS EXPECTED . I would keep pushing it if you can face it. Maybe say you'll go to the papers so everyone knows the prizes they offer aren't what people really receive?0 -
Of course you're not being unreasonable, you took the time to enter and give them all your details, which they can use, and in return you won.
Now they are being shifty about sending out the correct prize. I'd mention it to them in an email that you are thinking of going to the Omdubsman mention in Kit34 post. That might sort it out on its own.
You've enough pressure with your Mum and how you are feeling never mind the kids and this is not a good way to be treated.
Hopefully it will be sorted out and you can all have a good day out as a family.
Sure someone on here will give you all the rights & wrong ways about going on to do the complaint.

Get on their facebook and tell them what you have said here, they wont ignore you then xx If they don't respond there are other avenues you can go down xx#JusticeForGrenfell0

Thank-you, everyone, for your suggestions.
I'm aware that I feel quite emotional still at the moment, and I wanted to be sure that I wasn't making a fuss about nothing.
I have emailed them all again, stating how disappointed I am that no-one has even responded to my previous email. I'll give them a little while to see if I hear anything, and then I'll try their facebook page.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

No your not being unreasonable at all - I so hate it when I have to chase prizes up. With a bit of luck they may see you post on here like the lady from Kelkoo did with my message which I left on here and I heard from her the next day and she is kindly looking in to things for me. GOOD LUCK !!0

I had a problem with a prize from them as well. I posted it on their facebook wall and was emailled very, very quickly and I got double the prize in the end.
Tell them that you want the passes to be for next year now, as most of the attractions close for the winter this month and you want to make sure you get the most use out of them. Good luck0 -
First let me say my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.
Please post your complaint on Facebook, its the only way to let them know that they cant promise things, and then not deliver. Especially when there are children involved.I appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A0
