Transfering pics from ixus v3 whilst travelling

I have a canon ixus v3 camera and am about to go travelling. I don't want to take my laptop with me. What is the best way to transfer my pics from the camera when it is full to a more portable storage device without using a PC if possible. I only have a 256 MB card in the camera, but I do have 1GB in my PSP which is going with me. I would also consider buying a portable HDD if I could use that.
