I am a Jim Beam drinker and dislike Jack Daniels. Anyone know if this Lidl one tastes more like JB or JD?

Nice cheap alternative to Jim Beam. Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.0

I buy that brand quite regularly though I don't mind either JB or JD

Aldi's is a reasonable replacement for JB but not a patch on a decent bourbonPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Right, I went to Lidl today and bought a bottle of the Western Gold, 70cl, £10.99. I had a little of my JB White Label left and have now conducted a comparison. Hic!!Iid be interested in what you think OP,
I tried both neat though I usually take bourbon with ginger ale. I think the JB is less "fiery" than the Lidl version. With my first sip of the Western Gold, I could "feel" it in my nostrils, IYKWIM. Having said that, I think it is a little sweeter than the JB and, for me, that is a plus. I think by the time the mixer is in, I won't notice the difference to JB White Label and it's £4 cheaper than Asda JB price. Still prefer the JB Black Label though but it is too expensive.0 -
Aldi's Clarke's Old Kentucky Straight Sour Mash Whiskey Bourbon scores quite high as well. Not sure how much this costs now, it was about £10.49/70cl, and not sure if they still sell it. Competing brands are Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve, so should be similar.0

Yes, it's already been mentioned, thanks.0
