My memory says, quick setting cement is 'high alumina cement' and the construction industry started using it years ago. They had to knock down buildings and replace it, when it proved to be brittle, and they started collapsing.

Sorry, but I can't relate a flexible shower tray, to inflexible cement. They will never bond, as the tray will flex when used.

be careful the the stuff you have knocking around, if its been opened and its old it'll be knackered, also the flexible stuff may well be better for you

Picked up some fresh Mapei super flexible earlier thanks.

Spent a lot of time building 'brick outhouse' grade plinth as I want this install to be trouble free for a long time, just need to check I haven't missed anything stupid before making up a tub and getting it down.

    Thanks for advice.
