Hi guys,
Does anyone know how far in advance you can get your MOT done so that they will still pre-date it to when your old one runs out?
I'm off work at the mo, and my MOT is due 17th Feb, so if I could get it done now it would save taking time off work.
Off to the ambulance station again for a no fail MOT

Pretty sure that will be ok - you can get up to 13 months on the next one.0

30 days I think. so you should be o.k., current MOT cert. has to be produced. However, don't know if this is necessary if you have the "computerised" version already.0

Yes I believe I got the 'computerised' version last time. That's brilliant! Could do without the expense, but better now than taking time off or juggling lifts!!!!
Many thanks for your help!

Nope djl, it's 30 days I believe. I had my computerised MoT done on 6 November, expiring on 30 December 2007, which wouldn't be possible if it were only 4 weeks.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100

That's not possible, the latest it could expire is 5th December 2007
And it's not always 30 days, for example it would be 28days for an old expiry date March 1st.
The OP can get it done from today.0 -

I didn't produce the old certificate but got the extra few days. I even asked the test station when it was due, when I phoned for the appointment.0

Edit: I'm a muppet, I meant to post 5 December 2007 and have the MoT to prove it. Sorry for any typing confusion.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
