Rising - they already do... claim up the trousers LOL
Nope, there was only one delivery note, only for the things that my daughter has ordered.. very strange.....
And it was not food we normally buy, it was on of the brands that someone sent to us from far away (among others)... 10 boxes of 12 sachets each..hmmmm0 -
Are the 2 that are left boys?0
-
yup they are both boys....0

.. and after seeing them yesterday you have no idea how much I myself want to keep them - can not do though buuuuuu
But someone on another forum is fefintely interested in one and PONDERING about both
So fingers crossed for the 2 boys as I really want them to go to a permanent loving home together....
Someone contacted me via PM on here some days ago, asked a few questions - if they are happy to vacinate them, neuter the boys at 6 months, have them insured and also asked about their home situation (kids? garden?) and they never got back to me... ah.... one of those things....
But one has to ask, they are babies... little cute babies that will be someone's commitment forseveral years to come....0 -

You are totally right. It's very easy to fall in love with a kitten, but there is so much more to it than that. There is the financial responsibility for the whole of their life and also being able to commit to giving them a safe and loving home for all that time. Some people just want a cute kitten and don't think about the cost of neutering, jabs, flea treatment, worming etc.
When I had foster kittens at home, I had someone ask me on a social networking site how much I wanted for them. I explained that there was a donation of £50 each to the charity, they had to be homed in twos and that they would need to sign a contract agreeing to neuter/jab etc. I didn't even get a reply. If someone can't afford a £50 donation, how the hell are they going to afford to look after a cat long term? It really gets my goat lolA Bag A Month Challenge member0 -

Personally, I would prefer to have the £100 and spend that on getting the animals chipped and to go towards the vaccinations and neutering. Especially as the 'going rate' for a backyard breeder of cats is the same without the conditions attached.
I hate to disagree with you, as I know you have the interests of the animals at heart, but I do, quite strongly. Had I contacted you and expressed an interest in rehoming any of a litter, a reply like that would have instantly sent me looking somewhere else, I'm afraid.
I have had rescue animals since the second week of leaving home at 19. Had I been met with the attitude that *some* rescue places have - well, I wouldn't have had anything more than the current occupants of the fish tank.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

It's a difficult one - I do agree if you get an adult cat from a rescue which they've had to vaccinate, neuter, provide vet treatment, food etc then there should be a reasonable fee. For a wee one that has still to be neutered I think it should be less - with the promise (and follow up) that it's done.
However, there's also the argument that for people looking to take 2 .... it's a lot of money and I think there should be some lienciency in this due to the fact that the rescues are overflowing and finding homes for 2 is a major achievement.
As I say, there's no easy answer:( until people take responsibility and neuter their cats to stop so many looking for homes.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Just got back home to a lovely emails with new photos
Jo - be proud of your little one... brilliant, they all go to litter tray but yours allowed a photo to be taken while in action LOL
Sonia - again, they all eat kitty food now but one of your 2 alowed to be caught on camera doing so....
And the 2 sweeties who are POSSIBLY going to a lady from purrs....0 -
VeggieCatLady - I tottaly understand where you are coming from but really feel a £50 "donation" for a kitten is simply too much, especially as people are expected to take them in 2s regardless of the fact if they already have ther cats at home or not.
Yes, I did ask for donation on the babies (which will go to Celia Hammond) but left it up to individuals to decide how much they could afford . I rather they spend the money on the kitties themselves. Kitties leaving mum will be wormed and flea treated but they will need vaccinations, neutering - that can cost a lot.
I really feel that £50 for a kitten is a bit over the top - considering that anyone can (and will) go and get one either free or cheaper from we all know ehere with no questions asked.
Our priority was to save Lucy from having her babies under a bush and then finding good homes for all of them.
With massive help from a lot of people we managed just that and I am over the moon.
Lucy's mum just emailed me about delivery she had from Zooplus of all she needs for Lucy, good quality food/litter etc etc - so I am very happy with that...
Hopefully when all are rehomed - we will still get a bit of update from everyone0
