Getting windows to update

If they do that they they'll have the same problem as the problem is the age of the XP version being too old for Windows Update.Since it has not been used for a while, perhaps now is the time to run a clean install/destructive Factory Restore and then to add Service Packs immediately afterwards.
When I reinstalled everything and hit this problem the solution was to let XP do automatic updates as per the following

It wasn't to avoid the problem of updating, but to ensure they were starting with a clean system.0 -
All sorted, OH got the super dooper pc up and running so I'm now happy and sorted
