Congrats on a fab win! I've just won 7 nights to Orlando and they were happy to extend it to 10 nights for me as long as the extra nights were at my own expense.

Doesn't usually make a difference to flight prices so you should be ok to extend it, but of course there are some competitions where the T&Cs are stuck to rigidly for whatever reason.

It is worth asking them to extend and pay at your own expense.

I have won 2 fantastic family holidays in the past.

The first was to Australia and we extended by a couple of days - the PR company was happy to extend our flights.

The second was to Florida. The prize was for 7 days in the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal and I decided that I could not take my girls to Florida for the first time and not got to Disney. So the PR company booked our flight and we went to Disney at the start for 7 nights and then Universal at the end. It made no difference to them as the flights did not cost anymore.

So give it a try!

Thanks everyone for the well dones (is that a word?) and the advice, just thought I would let everyone know what we did,

In the end we didn't even ask about adding another day as the lady at the promotions company (who is great!) booked us on really great flights, so we will be at the hotel around 3 on day one and don't even leave New York till 10:30 in the evening on the last day! which made it really hard to justify £400 for an extra day (as £400 is a decent chunk of a airline ticket elsewhere)

I've won two big holidays comps & negotiated changes on each.I won a trip to NY & gave up the $1000 dollar SAKS spend to add an extra passenger.On a trip to Vancouver I just paid the air fare for the extra passenger & was able to pick a hotel that had two double beds & the promotor covered that.By selecting certain fights I kept the cost down for the airfare.Both promotors were fine with the changes.

WOW! Congrats - when I won my fly-drive to anywhere in the USA for 1 week they said I could stay for 2 weeks so long as I paid for the extra week in the hotel. Good luck with that
