Well done, that's a great win.
I found out earlier this week that I won a trip to Hamburg and I've just received all the information from the PR company organising it.
In the list of terms and conditions it actually states that if you wish to extend the trip at your own expense you need to notify them in writing when you return all the forms. As they say this I'd guess its a common request so it wouldn't be unusual for you to mention it.

Agree with suggestion about staying somewhere cheaper - just ask them if you can extend, and look into hotels/apartments yourself

I won a trip to new york a few years back, and they were more than happy to book another night for me, it was cheaper doing it through them.
Go for it just ask them , well done on an amazing win, New York is amazing
