Had an email a couple of days ago from E4 saying I had won a day of stunt training....in New York! Includes flights, transfers hotel and taxes!!
Ive never been to New York and I was wondering if it would be out of place to ask to add and pay for another night in the hotel to give me 2 days wandering about instead of 1 (3 nights 1 full day of 'training').
Has anyone done this or knows the best way to do it (ask them to delay flight and just book yourself or pay the promotions company to book 4 instead of 3 nights etc) Just don't know if they would get a better rate than i would (the hotel is £400-450 a night online  )
Thanks
J

Hi J - well done on your win! I'm in the same position, I've won a four nt trip to San Diego, but want to extend it. I'm trying to work up the courage to ask though, don't know the etiquette in these situations!
I'm waiting to see the replies you get...I am Doll Parts

you can ask them, the worst thing they can say is no, when we won our trip to australia we got the 16 nights included but were told that if we wanted any more time then they would arrange the flights for differect dates but we would have to pay for the accommodation separate ourselves.
I think most comp companies will be fine with it, they may even get you a discounted rate for the hotel so always ask them if they cna give you a price for the hotel as you will be suprised at what they can offer....
Well Done and enjoyBlessed on 18th February 2014 at 0814 with little Sarah xxx0 -
Wow brilliant prize!
Let us know how you get on, wicked prize! x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Great win- congratulations!
I'm sure you'll be able to extend the trip- we've been lucky enough to win a few trips away (nothing as fantastic as NY, but we live in hope) and the promotions people have always been really accommodating.
Good luck- let us know how you get on!:j0 -
Congratulations on your win.
You must ask - as 1trainer1 says, the worst thing that can happen is they say no and make you drink Dr Pepper!
I have seen winners on here pay for an extra place when they have won a trip - so it's always worth asking.
At a former job I had to go for a week's training to USA, and I asked for extra days either side of the business week, offering to pay for the hotel. It turned out that this made the flight so much cheaper that the company paid for the hotel for the full duration anyway! Mind you - they weren't that impressed when I fell asleep on my first day back due to jet lag0 -
Fantastic win:T:T:T:T:T:T:T, I won 5 days to Las Vegas a few years ago, and we were not able to change anything outside the terms of the comp , but we were overjoyed with the prize just as it was.
Hope you get your 'yes' from them.
Well doneI appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A0 -
I've been able to add nights to holiday comp wins before so think you'll probably be able to. Enjoy it. Maybe go to a cheaper hotel for the extra nights? NY is v expensive but that is a lot.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0 -
I don't see why not, I won a trip to New York too, and the lady booking it for me asked me if I wanted her to delay the return flight so I could have more time there. Unfortunately I can't afford it right now, but just ask, the worst they can do is say they can't do that for you, and at least then you'll know!0
