Query re future car insurance after having Mobility Ins.

In our household we have two cars. One is a mobility car (for DD aged 5, which mobility put in her name and had myself and DH as named drivers. The other car had insurance with myself as the main driver and DH as a named Driver. My insurance 16 years no claim bonus wasnt protected.
During the bad weather last year in November I was reversing the mobility car off my drive and at the last minute notice a car that had parked on the opposite side of the road. As I breaked the car breaks locked and skidded backing into the car. The mobility car was slightly damaged and the other car had a dented door. Anyhow I phoned the mobility car insurance people straight away and got the mobility car and the other persons car sorted out.
My question is this. Going forward how does this affect my car insurance. The mobility car went back in August so we no longer have that and my own car insurance was due in July, but as I didnt know where I stood I have put it in DH name and just have me as a named driver. I have noticed when filling out the online comparison sites that some say ' have you every had a claim on any car insurance policy', obviously with this question yes I have so I assume I have lost my 16 yrs no claims. However on other sites it asks ' have you ever had a claim on your insurance policy'. It is this one that I struggled with as no it wasnt my policy it was actually my daughters mobility insurance. So do I just tick 'no'.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

You need to answer the questions truthfully - and often the question being asked online is explained further by clickung on an "info" button next to the question.
You have lost your 16 years no claims record, and most/all insurers do require you to tell them of all incidents/claims/losses over the previous 3 - 5 years.0 -
ok, so even if the question is 'have you ever had a claim on your insurance policy' I do need to disclose the claim even though it wasnt on my own insurance policy?
What a bummer - never mind, honestly is always best as i wouldnt want to be looking over my shoulder all the time and worrying about my car insurance possibly being made voidTopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
you won't have lost your 16 years NCD.
You answer that you had an accident on xx/xx/xxxx and that you have x years NCD. when your insurance expired they send you a renewal with your proof of NCD so you declare what's on that. If you were a named driver on the motabilty insurance then it won't affect your NCD as it was on a different policy; if it did, you'd only lose about 2 years off it anyway.0 -
Scheming gypsy - yes when I got my renewal through for my own insurance in July it did have that I had 16 years ncb, and yes the mobility insurance I was only a named driver. it's just how they word the question on various sites so I didnt know how to answer. If it asks on any policy then obviously I have had a claim and should say but when they ask on my policy I question what I say. I just dont want to invalidate my insurance should I ever have the misfortune to have a bump again.
Gosh it's all confusing. You say if I did I would only lose 2 years - is that even if I do disclose it with both of the worded questions?TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -

Yes you do need to disclose the claim.
(Although the claim you told us about in the OP does blemish your 16 year claim free record, it won't affect your "No Claims Discount")0 -
If they ask if you've claimed on your policy and you're doing it online, then say no. Once you've found your cheapest price you can always call them to confirm it's ok0
