Thanks must try and get to 1 2mora.

Mum loves xmas pudding, she buys them in sale after xmas to last her the whole yr. So for her xmas present this yr, I'm doing her a hamper of puddings from different shops....should keep her going :D

What a lovely idea - very thoughtful! Are you going to make your own one too?
  • Watch out for the best before dates. In Reading they varied from mid to the start of Jan. Just in case it lasts that long of course!

I have 3 cakes! 1 for us, one for my folks and one for the in-laws!

I saw the cake today and thought it was tiny! On hindsight probably just right for our family so will probably go back and get one tomorrow. I love Christmas pud too - is it hard to make your own?

eta - should I start now or is that too early?

Thanks I'll be in there tomorrow. Had one of the puddings last year and they were gorgeous. Bought a cheap iced cake and decorated it myself last year with penguins and stuff as have young boys. Will look at the cake too as might be able to add/alter some bits cheaply?

none in castlepoint yesterday and several people looking for them. Watch out, there is a tiny one at the same price which was still on the shelf.

    Very money saving!
Is the cake just a regular sponge?
