Party booked but can't contact supplier

My son's party is booked in a playbarn in four weeks time. I have been round on the last four days, only to find it's closed. Its normal trading times are 10am until 5pm. I know it's been up for sale for a while and am concerned that they've closed up shop!

I am not sure what to do next. No answer from phone number, bounced back emails. I need to know if they're still honouring party bookings, or whether to try(!) and book somewhere else!

Doesn't look hopeful from what you have said. I'd go ahead and book somewhere else.

Have you paid yet? Any way of cancelling it, if it hasn't been taken from your account? If it's shut when it should be open, it looks very like it has gone bust I'm afraid. I'd be trying to find somewhere else and protecting myself from being out of pocket if I could.
  • No, not that one!

I've paid a deposit - by cheque - for about £50.00. It has been cashed.

The place has inexplicably been shut before for a few days at a time.

I think I will wait until Saturday (when I know they have a party booked in) and see if they open then! I live around the corner, so it's easy for me to pop round.

Don't think I'll get my money back though!

you could ring Trading Standards and ask them - they may well know if the company has ceased trading.
I would start looking for other venues tho - just in case!

Try typing the company name into Google, followed by "closure", "liquidation" or "bankruptcy", see if that throws anything up? Good luck, you must be worried sick!
