free virus scanner

I'm running windows vista and microsoft's security essentials but recently my computer has really slowed down. Can anyone recommend a free virus/trojan/worm checker that might find something mse might have missed. Thanks.

replace mse with avast free, and scan with malwarebytes (don't install 14 day trial)!!

Start with the online scanners, that way you can see what they do without having to install them, though some online scanners will want to install an active x control.
