Not a case of not liking salmon but more of a case it fitted with what I was saying not what you were arguing. :)

Spiders starve to protect their own young. Again same reason GD.

    Think about what you debated.

You need an example of animals that sacrifice their selves to protect others DNA.

I can only think of one and it is not done as a selfless act, it's accidental as they think they are protecting their own DNA.
That is some birds lay eggs in other birds clutches and the other species look after them, usually to the extent their own chicks die.
But again it is not done for any other reason than that believe the chick is their own.

Animals in general look after them and their own otherwise their DNA tends to end.
so finding examples may be very hard as animals that don't protect their DNA tend to die out.

Male spiders also give themselves to the females after mating.

    Then theres ants.....

But my point has been made, and this is all a little silly ;)

GD do I have to point out the obvious,

    A) Mating male = preserve your DNA (not selfless)
    B) The male never want's to be eaten he would rather leave alive, some get away.
    C) The Female eats a member of her own species as a snack, is that not a bit selfish? Have you ever eaten a girlfriend after sex? :)

Ant's survive in a colony serving one strand of DNA, they are either related or hope to continue their own DNA.

I agree your point has been made, that I am possibly right on this one, we do tend to go along with our basic programing at some point in our life. :);)

So to get back to the point people do tend to like what is good for them and for others. But also tend to dislike what is bad for them also.
If the government were to decide that I'm so wonderful I should be paid £10,000 a week under a special Act of Parliament, I'd be delighted. But I'm not going to argue that they should do it, and not only because it's rather unlikely.

I'm interested in how that line gets crossed.

I dare say it could be a debatable subject, but one that could easily be put down to survival of the fittest also. So as you age get larger and slower you could also be more likely to be caught/eaten.
Elders may protect their young, but that is usually for own DNA reasons, not others of the same species young.
There are many cases of animals eating the sames species young to protect their own DNA.

As humans ask parents if they had to make the choice of there own life or that of there child.

With that if its there own life or that of another persons child then I guess the replys would be different.

Its very much what we are seeing now with the 'I'm alright Jack' attitude we see so much.

Not sure if you are agreeing with me or not?
But I am saying it is built in to every species to protect their DNA that is their own or their childs.

But this has now got way of what I was saying which is basically when the chips are down nature does tend to kick in.

I think in short I am in agreement with you.

With that I have been summarising this using a much more simple phrase for a while.

    You can't stop greed.

Approx £13k, yes I know it doesn't add up with my current progress.

Will add that to my sig actually.
